Emily Blunt very nearly played Black Widow in Iron Man 2 but the Edge of Tomorrow star will play Mary Poppins later this year. Now, she's posed for a Vanity Fair photoshoot and you need to check this out.

Emily Blunt very nearly ended up playing Black Widow and had she not been beaten to the role by Scarlett Johansson, the Marvel Cinematic Universe - and her career - would have looked very different. Ever since then, comic book readers have been hoping the Edge of Tomorrow star would land a big superhero movie role, with Captain Marvel a fan-favourite choice until Brie Larson nabbed the part.

Despite not showing up in the Marvel or DC Films Universes this year, Blunt does have a huge role in Disney's Mary Poppins Returns, a Christmas Day release which should wind up being a huge hit.

I sometimes have a hard time buying ScarJo as BW. I think she does fine, but you can certainly see why the Marvel casting gods wanted Emily for the role. She would have been a better fit imo.
