Wonder how much it wont make on dvd/blu ray, but I guess you never know, plenty of popular films bombed, but became hits on home media

I saw this in the theater, mostly just to see what the 120 FPS looked like. The technical element is really the only thing interesting about it. The movie itself is what it looks like from the trailers: it's basically Looper, but without the things that made that movie work.

Ang Lee needs to abandon the gimmicks and get back to making movies with great stories.

The man directed Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Still one of the greatest movies of all time.

@Comicbookart - Y'know, I saw that when it came out in 2001, thought it was good, didn't quite appreciate the hype about it. Then I rewatched it for the first time in over a decade early last year? Maybe 2017? I was BLOWN AWAY by how great that movie is!? So yeah, agreed.
-Though I was very impressed with The Life of Pi

@Lem1 - Life of Pi is also a classic. The man is such a talent.

It's a shame to see him so involved with high frame rate, a technology that at this point in time does little more than further expose that movies are indeed fake.

"..it will, for the first time ever, be encoded in 60FPS"

That's not true. Ang Lee's previous film (Billy Lynn) was also released on UHD Blu-ray in 60fps.

@KingPatel - ok but it didn't say "a first for Paramount", it said "for the first time ever".

@Pyronaut - reading the press release more closely, it looks like this is the first ever Dolby Vision HFR disc.

I knew nothing about the frame rates. I should've gone to see it. Oh well. Anyway seen 21 bridges yet?

Saw it in 3D with the High Frame Rate on a brand new laser iMAX projector with a new screen....first thing they showed on it.

Eh..

We're still not ready for a 100% CG character placed in a real world setting. At times the character would thin out, or show a lack of weight. It even approached the Matrix Multiple Smith fight scene at times..

Best part was everything except the young Smith. The action looked amazing when the CG wasn't screwing up the scene.. disappointing.

Make mine..

Was all over the place ! very surprised ….Ang Lee is usually a very solid director. Will Smith and Mary EW as very good in it....but the sloppy CGi on young WSs face and the "bendy" fight sight scene in the crypt (ala Blade 2) were laughable . And the script was just plain dumb at times. The ending was also very cheesy.
