It's no secret that I hated Pacific Rim with every fibre of my being, but even I'm pretty intrigued by the upcoming sequel. Directed by former Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight, the movie stars John Boyega as the son of Idris Elba's Stacker Pentecost, and as you can see from the new set photos below, it appears as if he's going to be a Jaeger pilot. He's certainly rocking the right sort of costume anyway!
Beyond that, they don't reveal much, but there's a lot of blue screen being used. Pacific Rim: Uprising also stars Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, Nick E. Tarabay, and Rinko Kikuchi. It was recently reported that Karl Urban had joined the cast, but the actor later took to Twitter to deny those claims (though we've heard that before). The movie is currently set to be released on February 23rd, 2018.
