New JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM Synopsis Teases An Earth Shattering Conspiracy

Following the debut of that awesome first Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom teaser trailer, Universal Pictures has released a synopsis for the sequel which teases a game changing conspiracy for the franchise.

Jurassic World exceeded everyone's expectations at the box office when it was released in 2015 but director Colin Trevorrow followed that with critical failure The Book of Henry and a firing from Star Wars Episode IX by Lucasfilm. He is, however, still involved with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom but a new director is in charge in the form of J. A. Bayona. So far, it looks like a considerably better movie!

Regardless, Universal Pictures has now released a new synopsis to go along with the trailer and as well as essentially reiterating the storyline made clear by that sneak peek, we get a hint that a larger conspiracy may be at play which will once again see dinosaurs roaming the Earth and back in charge!

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful series in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before. Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Depending on how much Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom commits to this idea, it could be a real game changer for the franchise and may take things down a rather, well, silly route. Who could be in charge of trying to return the Earth to its prehistoric state? We don't know but it would be a pretty neat twist if Sam Neill's Alan Grant was somehow involved!
