GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS' Rotten Tomatoes Score Has Been Revealed

There's been an awful lot of excitement surrounding Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and now the movie's Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed amidst mixed reviews. Find out more after the jump...

Godzilla was met with something of a mixed response from fans due to the way director Gareth Evans chose to tease the titular monster's arrival, but critics, for the most part, really enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, the same can't be said for sequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters

With critics branding it "the worst American Godzilla film" and "an overload of repetitive, joyless destruction that mistakes volume and demolition for actual excitement," it probably won't surprise you to learn that it has a pretty dismal Rotten Tomatoes score of 56%.

According to the Critics Consensus, "Godzilla: King of the Monsters delivers spectacular kaiju action -- and reaffirms that cutting-edge effects are still no substitute for a good story."

It's hard to say what impact, if any, this will have on the chances of the movie finding success at the box office but Godzilla Vs. Kong is already shooting, so that's happening regardless of how well-received this movie is. Ultimately, it sounds like the action delivers while the story and human cast does notm but that won't pose much of a problem for moviegoers keen to see these monsters go to war.
