In this new announcement from the twitter of BBC news reporter Lizo Mzimba, comes the news that Karen Gillan(Amy Pond) and Arthur Darvill(Rory Williams) will leave Doctor Who after its seventh season. Steven Moffat, current writer and producer of the show, announced the news after the screening of "The Doctor, The Widow And The Wardrobe":

From Lizo Mzimba Twitter:
Doctor Who announcement - amy and rory will leave heartbreakingly during next series and will have a new companion #doctorwho
Steven Moffat says plenty of Amy and Rory in next series, but they will leave 'heartbreakingly'. New companion not yet cast. #DoctorWho
For those asking, it's just been announced by Steven Moffat after screening of Xmas episode.

Well, me as a fan of the show and of both characters I think that it's time for them to leave already, as it is how things normally works with Doctor Who. I hope that the character "Craig Owens" from the episodes 'The Lodger' and 'Closing Time' gets to be the new companion, knowing that he and the Doctor have good chemistry together. Share your thoughts in the usual place.

Doctor Who: "The Doctor, The Widow And The Wardrobe" will air this Christmas, December 25th at 7pm ET on BBC One.
