While it was able to garner a pretty warm critical reception before release, Daniel Espinosa's sci-fi thriller Life ultimately fell victim to the juggernaut that was Disney's Beauty and the Beast, which continued to dominate the worldwide box office well into its second weekend.

With the theatrical run coming to a close, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that the film will arrive on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on June 20 with a digital HD release arriving a few weeks prior on June 2.

Pre-order the film by clicking either link: Blu-ray or 4K Ultra HD.

This was a cool little sci-fi horror flick. Standard fare, and the type of stuff we've seen many times before, but a good brutal ride.

This movie was bad, but it was still better than Alien Covenant.

@knocturnalzen10 - See it, judge for yourself. It will be as divisive as Prometheus. I enjoyed it very much, as did others. Some others, not so much. Don't bias yourself yet.

I keep seeing that people thought this movie was better than Covenant and I'm not buying it. There was a giant plot hole that completely ruined this movie and how no one points it out is beyond me.

@TheRealRLJ - What would that be? I liked both movies, but what's the plot hole? Message me if you don't want to post spoilers.

@MosquitoFarmer - I can post it here without spoiling it. Look where the alien could survive early on then look how they planned to catch it at the end; doesn't add up.

You know what movie I thought was terrible but the critics loved and so did a bunch of other people? Arrival. Boy was that such a bore. If Life is anything like Arrival, I'll pass.

@SonOfAGif - arrival was weird for me. I thought it was [frick]ing boring as rocks, but I still think it was a great movie. It was sort of like an awesome documentary. It was incredibly thought-provoking, and well made, but excitement level was set at zero.

This was such a cool little space movie, sure, a little conventional, but still fairly fresh!

Highly recommend!

I always mistake this movie for a Milton Bradley adaptation.
