Since as far back as 2010, before the novel had even been published, we have been hearing that legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg would be directing an adaptation of Daniel H Wilson's best-selling novel ROBOPOCALYPSE. Around 2014 however, the project seemed to stall and there hasn't been much movement since.

Until now, as Variety has revealed that production is again set to move forward, but this time with the Transformers franchise's Michael Bay at the helm in place of Steven Spielberg, who will still serve as a producer on the project.

The film, which will tell the story of a supremely intelligent AI named Archos R-14, who begins planning the eradication of all human
civilization shortly after become self-aware, was to star the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Anne Hathaway and Ben Whishaw. Whether this remains true now that Bay has taken over the film, remains to be seen.

What do you think? Are you happy with the change? Or would you have rather seen Spielberg stay? Are you a fan of the original novel? Leave your thoughts below.
