Directed by Daredevil season one showrunner Steven S. DeKnight and boasting a lead star in the form of Star Wars: The Last Jedi's John Boyega, the hope is that it will improve upon the first instalment which was divisive among fans.

Now, Total Film has unveiled a very cool magazine cover alongside some official images from the movie which promise plenty of epic action when the Jaegers are called in to once again battle the Kaiju.

Interestingly, it looks like Pacific Rim Uprising will deliver some Jaeger vs. Jaeger action, a first for the franchise and a twist which is sure to leave everyone wonder what on Earth might be happening here! What happens when two Jaegers go to war? Well, if that's a question you've wanted an answer to since watching Pacific Rim back in 2013, it appears as if this sequel is going to finally provide it!

John Boyega (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) is pictured here alongside fellow franchise newcomer Cailee Spaeny (Backseat) and it's said that she plays a computer expert called Amara in the movie.

Another atmospheric shot of John Boyega, it's hard to say for sure what's going on here but this could be the insides of one of those massive Jaegers that we're looking at. Time will obviously tell!
