READY PLAYER ONE: Mark Rylance & Simon Pegg Create The OASIS In A Pair Of New Stills; Plus A New TV Spot
Along with that awesome Empire cover from this morning, the popular magazine has also debuted two new stills from Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One, featuring new looks at Simon Pegg & Mark Rylance!
We're just around a month or so away from Ready Player One and as the marketing campaign gets underway, Empire has now released two new photos from the upcoming Steven Spielberg blockbuster.
The first photo sees the legendary filmmaker on-set directing Primetime Emmy-winner Ben Mendelsohn (Captain Marvel), who is playing the power-hungry villain of the picture Nolan Sorrento. The picture reveals Sorrento logged into the OASIS at presumably the IOI headquarters as he attempts to hunt down Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) and the High Five.
The second photo offers up a look at Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies) as James Halliday and Simon Pegg (Mission: Impossible - Fallout) as Ogden Morrow. The scene will likely be a flashback to when the dynamic duo created the OASIS and may possibly be something we see early on when Watts is doing his Easter Egg research.
Check out the two new photos below:

Plus, check out a new TV spot with some fresh T-Rex footage:
The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.
