ATTACK THE BLOCK Director Joe Cornish Once Again Linked To STAR TREK 3

Latino-Review initially reported that Attack The Block's Joe Cornish was in the running to helm Star Trek 3, but now one of the trades is reporting that the Ant-Man co-writer is indeed in Paramount's sights to take over the movie from J.J. Abrams. Read on for details!

Back in May, Latino-Review reported that Joe Cornish was being considered by Paramount as a replacement for J.J. Abrams (who is obviously busy with Star Wars Episode VII) to helm Star Trek 3. Despite Abrams making it clear that he wants to return, the studio are hoping to release the third instalment in order to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the franchise. Well, Deadline are now reporting that "the studio is sweet on Joe Cornish to direct the next film" and that while it's still early days, they say to stay tuned for updates. The movie is also thought to still be on track for a summer 2016 release. Cornish's directorial debut was the superb Attack the Block, while he worked with Edgar Wright on Ant-Man and The Adventures of Tintin.
