@Oberlin4Prez - I agree with the visuals.

I used to be against the ppossibility of a STAR WARS live action series because I always felt it would match the films. But if this is the visual effect quailty on a TV budget NOW, imagine hwo it will improve in the nextc couple of years.

That actually looks decent. Good to see Star Trek returning to TV. As much as I like the Abrams film series, television has always seemed like Star Treks true home.

Looks pretty good. The only thing i don't like is the Asian Captain's acting, its so stale

Battlestar Galactica is better.

Gunn talks about Nathan Fillion's cameo here on a facebook post. I think it's worth mentioning because I think Gunn intends Wonder Man to actually be a prominent character at some point, judging by the post.

Whoa, this is a show? With the production values that high, it looks like a damn movie.

I'm not fond of having another prequel series, personally, but if it's good, then I'll hop aboard for another Trek.

Lens flares!

Not digging that Klingon look at all.

Honestly, even though a lot of the jokes landed with a thunk, I liked the visuals of the "Next Generation"/"Galaxy Quest" inspired "Orville" better. Turn on a damn light once in a while.

Damn, it looks good. Great scale. Lessons learned from the recent films - the camera isn't locked off on the Bridge. New angles. Lessons to be forgotten - LENS FLARE. But still saddled with pre-Kirk era - and 'new' Klingons. A different timeline?

I know it sounds illogical to say this, but if this trailer changed nothing else except say it was set after TNG/DS9/TSV, then i would be sooo crazy hyped for this.

Like other that Sarek, there seems to be no reason to set this before TOS. The visuals look super cool and futuristic. It has none of the retro charm of Abrams movies.

All the period setting does here is seriously kill my buzz. So crazy that such a small detail could be such a dampener, but it is.

@528491 - yes! Build on the success of an awesome show that was. [frick] all this nostalgia. Moving forward with the concept was what kept this franchise going.
