Legendary Poster Artist Drew Sturzan Coming Back For STAR WARS VII?
Remember back in the day when movie posters used to be a work of art, something you'd want to pinup in your dorm room? Today's movie posters rely too heavily on Photoshop, and are often generic, fitting into a cookie-cutter template based on its genre. One artist that is the cream of the crop is Drew Sturzan. He is the man behind the iconic posters for every film in the Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Rambo and Star Wars franchises. He's also responsible for the sublime Blade Runner, Jurassic Park and E.T: The Extraterrestrial movie posters. Now it sounds as though J.J. Abrams has brought Drew back for Star Wars VII.
Schmoes Know are reporting, Drew Sturzan, the artist that is best known for creating all the iconic movies posters for the "Indiana Jones," "Back to the Future" and "Star Wars" franchises, is coming back to work on J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII.
So let’s just get to the amazingness, shall we? We here at Schmoes Know have learned from a close source to Drew himself that none other than JJ Abrams has contacted him to come OUT OF RETIREMENT to do the poster art for Star Wars Episode VII. Not only will this tie in the fan base and magic of the original trilogy, but it will connect the new saga to the original feelings we all have based in part from the wonderful posters we all know and love.
Star Wars: Episode VII - Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film. It's being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.
