Reports Of A Spacecraft & A Blast Crater On STAR WARS VII Abu Dhabi Set

Sources for The National have informed the site that things are starting to heat up on the Abu Dhabi set of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII. Check it out!

Last month, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, Alan F. Horn, provided some updates on Star Wars VII. One tantalizing piece of info was when Horn confirmed that second unit had already started filming in Abu Dhabi. Which meant set photos that came out a week before Horn's comments, posted by The National, were most likely authentic. Which means their Star Wars sources have a bit of credibility. Today, The National has come out with a new report with plenty of juicy bits of info that will surely whet your whistle.
"Our sources also report that the sets are getting closer to completion, with a “whole world” having been built on an otherworldly salt lake at one location, a “shuttle-like” spacecraft, a large tower, a “big, centuries-old-looking market”, something the crew are reportedly referring to as the “alien house” and 10 to 15 “really fast buggies” powered by jet engines (landspeeders of Tatooine fame from the previous films, perhaps?) We have also been told that two lorries of explosives have been brought to one of the sites under high security and that a blast crater has been created. So, it looks like the action in Abu Dhabi could be set to feature a major battle or spacecraft crash of some description." - The National

Star Wars: Episode VII - Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film. It's being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.
