That director has an excellent vocabulary right?
I learned two new words reading this... effusive and striations

This was a pretty good film! I really hope that Ron Howard s given a chance to do more Star Wars films. I think he has good instincts, respect for the lore, and did a great job blending action drama and pacing!

Paul Bettany easily gave the best performance in the movie. Which was a pleasant surprise.

Maul, is killed by Kenobi, in is a few swings in Rebels, which was a joke. There is no intrigue left with him after that. All Disney created Star Wars villains suck. And a Lando movie, does anybody on the planet want that?, Lucasfilm needs to take a break, and do ix, right. Meaning like Rogue One, but edited better.

@harley2011 - They could decide to put Maul's final battle in a Kenobi film and treat the Rebels version as being stylized. It would have the same basic result but be longer.

The problem would be including Ezra, who had an important part in creating that showdown. I'm not sure they would want to burden themselves with getting into enough of his backstory to explain who he is in a Kenobi movie. They sort of painted themselves into a corner if they want to keep Rebels cannon.

I WAS WONDERING IF THOSE SCARS WERE INTENSIFYING WHILE WATCHING THE MOVIE!!!!
It was driving me nuts wondering if I was imagining it or not.

It bothered me that they made Han Solo more naive, idealistic and lovestruck than Luke was in a New Hope.
MyBeard
MyBeard - 6/8/2018, 8:50 AM
@TheBatlist - Why? Han having gone through that and seeing how that youthful spirit passes is what puts him into the place to be a big brother type. It helps explain why he keeps calling Luke kid.

The five families are the five companies of Scranton Business Park. The bosses rarely meet. There's Michael Scott, Regional Manager, Dunder Mifflin. Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration. Paul Faust of Disaster Kits Limited. They call him "Cool Guy Paul." W.B. Jones of W.B. Jones Heating and Air. Grade A Bad Ass. And Bill Cress of Cress Tool and Dye. Bill Cress is super old and really mean.

I didn't hate Solo or anything, but this story and all the other laid out and teased stories should've been in a series format (a la clone wars). The ending did really feel like a mid season finale, and now we have to wait for another movie (maybe Lando) to finish up the season.

Nonetheless, I liked Solo a lot actually and it might as well be on par with Rogue One for number 1 Disney Star Wars movie

He carried out the project the best way he could. For better or worse he delivered the product KK wanted. My guess is that he accepted, provided he was given the chance to go back to Willow.

That is all I want. For Lucas Film to give him what they might have promised as well as full control of it. Hope he gets to make those movies.

The photography, music, and pacing were so good, Alden was AWESOME!

Sure, it's got flaws, some scenes do feel a little messy, but felt like a true Star Wars movie, a cool experiment, I think this is my fave Disney Star Wars film... Hope "LANDO" is the sequel, I'd like to see more of this cast.

The only thing that bugs me continuously is a small nitpick I have about the Falcon. I hate how they are explaining the escape pod modification at the front.

In the Legends canon, the Corellian YT Freighters were exactly that... freighters.

Plus the Falcon already has escape pods, so why would Lando want to add another?

Small nitpick, I know. But for some reason it bugs me. I enjoyed Solo though, seen it twice now.
