SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY Director Ron Howard Comments On Reports That Disney Has Shelved Spin-Offs

Recent reports indicated that Disney/Lucasfilm had decided to put the various Star Wars spin-offs on hold after Solo bombed at the box office, but that film's director says this is "not entirely accurate."

Last week, a rumor did the rounds which claimed that Disney/Lucasfilm had shelved all of the "Star Wars Story" spin-offs for the time being after Solo's disappointing performance at the box office.

Lucasfilm has since refuted this, although it seems clear that there are some kind of changes being implemented when it comes to these standalone adventures in the galaxy far, far away.

TMZ caught up with Ron Howard to ask him about these reports, and the Solo director was quick to point out that they weren't "entirely accurate," which does suggest that there may have been at least some truth to them. He then goes on to defend his film, pointing out that Solo did very well [for him], and that “exit polls were great, reaction was terrific among fans”.
