STAR WARS: EPISODE IX Footage Description Teases An Exciting Team-Up, Lando Calrissian And More
Although we still don't have a title, J.J. Abrams did put together some snippets of footage from Star Wars: Episode IX to screen at yesterday's shareholder meeting, and we have a description right here...
While we're going to have to wait another while for that big title reveal, we do have details the first ever footage from Star Wars: Episode IX that was screened at Disney's shareholders meeting yesterday.
Director J.J. Abrams put together a sizzle reel for those in attendance, and while nothing major was revealed about the movie's plot, there were some exciting character teases.
For starters, it looks like all of three of the saga's new heroes will be teaming up for the first time, as Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron were seen in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon along with a mysterious fourth individual. There was also a shot of a mask-less Kylo Ren sitting in a room that's described as being similar to Darth Vader's meditation chamber from Empire.
In addition, there was a brief shot of the returning Lando Calrissian, and a glimpse of Rey wielding Chewie's bowcaster.
For a more detailed breakdown of what was shown you can check out the Twitter thread below. Hopefully it won't be too long until we get to see some footage from the final installment of the Skywalker saga for ourselves.
