STAR WARS: Mark Hamill Shares Touching Thanksgiving Tribute To Carrie Fisher

In an emotional post, Star Wars icon Mark Hamill thanked the late Carrie Fisher for all the memories the two stars have shared. Hamill also recently opened up on the passing of Fisher and how he's coping.

As Americans across the United States celebrate Thanksgiving with their loved ones, Star Wars icon Mark Hamill took a moment to share a touching tribute to his friend and co-star Carrie Fisher, who passed away late last year.

Hamill posted a previously released image of the pair as Luke and Leia from the upcoming film Star Wars: The Last Jedi, adding that he was "thankful [for] the memories."

Hamill also made sure to commemorate what would have been Carrie Fisher's 61st birthday in late October with another emotional photo of the two. The Star Wars actor has been hard-hit by Fisher's passing, and claims he copes with the void by still thinking of her in the present tense.

"The only way I've been able to cope is to think of her in the present tense. She's so vital in my mind even today," Hamill told Men's Journal. Still he remains quite candid when talking about his relationship with the late Fisher. "We had our ups and downs. She was almost like a real sibling because I loved her deeply, but she could be so exasperating. When she went into cardiac arrest, it never occurred to me that she wouldn't bounce back. I just thought, 'Well, she's got her next book written.' She'll call it A Piece of My Heart or something acerbic and witty."

Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will once again reprise their roles as the Skywalker siblings when Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives in theaters next month, but it's still unclear if fans will get the opportunity to see the two legends on screen together one last time.
