Friday really can't get here soon enough as the signs are all pointing to Star Wars: The Last Jedi being nothing short of incredible. The first wave of reviews for the movie were released yesterday and as things currently stand, a total of 162 reviews have been counted with only 11 of those deemed "Rotten" by Rotten Tomatoes. As a result, the movie currently has a score of 93%, a very impressive result which should ensure that word of mouth is extremely good when the sequel hits theaters.

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi honors the saga's rich legacy while adding some surprising twists," reads the official Critics Consensus, "and delivering all the emotion-rich action fans could hope for."

Star Wars: The Force Awakens also received a score of 93%, while Rogue One:  A Star Wars Story ended up getting 85% (a miracle considering the fact it was plagued by some many behind the scenes issues, including extensive reshoots). Are you guys excited to check out Star Wars: The Last Jedi this weekend?

Listened to Double Toasted's review. They kinda make it sound like Stranger Things 2 (complete with it's own likely-to-be-frowned-upon subplot ala episode 7!).

@MUTO123 - Stranger things was so so.

Pros.
Main characters.
Mad max
The Shadow monster (mindflayer is such a shitty name)
the demodogs.
Bob.
The doc guy
Steve was a badass this season.
Hopper

Cons
Episode 7
All that stuff with nancy and jonathon was cringy as hell.
killing off bob.
Characters were a little bratty at times.
Not enough of shadow monster.
Same result, not enough stuff happens.

@Krampus - I didn't think the characters were that bratty. Jonathan felt kinda wasted (his only real purpose seemed to be to drive characters to other places), but the scenes with him and Nancy were kinda raised up by that conspiracy theorist dude they were hanging out with. I thought that guy was [frick]ing hysterical.

I kinda liked episode 7.

@MUTO123 - I liked the guy himself but the comibnation of music and sexual tension felt very out of place.

I did not enjoy episode 7. That said, i did like 8. But i do wonder if they should add a new child, that works for the shadow monster.

@Krampus - I wouldn't mind if they brought back the illusion girl from episode 7. I think she's kind of a cool character, and I really liked that actress.

Said this on another thread, but reading the spoilers - and don't worry I won't mention any - is not the same as seeing how they play out. If I had seen them on paper before seeing the movie I'd prob have been pissed off too, but I think people will be much happier once they experience the story for themselves.

Definitely avoiding all spoilers for the first time in a while. Especially since commercials are even saying “Don’t Spoil This”. The wait is almost over. 8pm tomorrow can’t get here soon enough!!
