STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Star John Boyega Hoping For A Longer Fight Scene In Episode IX

PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING's John Boyega has been talking about his less than stellar confrontation with Phasma in THE LAST JEDI and what he hopes he gets to do in the upcoming EPISODE IX.

One of the more divisive aspects of last years The Last Jedi, was the handling of John Boyega's Finn in the Star Wars the sequel. While most of those criticisms are leveled against the Canto Bight subplot that saw his character and Kelly Marie Tran's Rose Tico seeking out a splicer on a casino planet populated by war profiteers, many also noted the rather lackluster re-match between him and Captain Phasma.

The  fans are not alone in that feeling however, as the Attack the Block actor has been talking to IGN about that latter fact and it appears that he was disappointed in it as well:

Yeah, man, I didn't expect it to be that quick if I'm being honest with you. I was like, wait, what? He's been like ramped up for a big fight and then it was over in a second. [laughs] But, hopefully, Finn gets to face someone else or has a fight that's much longer in Episode 9.

It remains to be seen whether Gwendoline Christie's Phasma will return in the upcoming JJ Abrams directed Episode IX or indeed what role Finn will have now that both he and Rey are reunited alongside Resistance fighters Poe Dameron and Rose Tico but here's hoping that Boyega gets a more hands on confrontation for the final go around.

What do you think? Were you let down by the Finn vs Phasma fight? Would you like to see her appear again in Episode IX? What are your hopes for Finn in the final entry? Leave your thoughts below.
