Although there hasn't been anything official on this yet, a trusted source is claiming that the final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will air on Monday, October 21. More past the jump...

Star Wars fans have been wondering when the final trailer for The Rise of Skywalker would be released, and now we may finally have a date.

It had been widely speculated that the trailer would arrive before the month was out, and the guys over at Black Rebel Series reckon they've confirmed that it's set for Monday, October 21, during half time of Monday Night Football on ESPN.

We'll have to take this as a rumor until we hear something official, but the source has been spot on when it comes to trailer dates in the past, and Disney has previously aired Star Wars spots during MNF. It may also be worth noting that October 21 is the birthday of the late Carrie Fisher!

We'll update as soon as we hear more, but for now let us know what you hope to see from the trailer, and check out Hasbro's latest range of Black Series action figures by clicking the view list button below.

Rey

Daisy Ridley’s heroine in her Skywalker costume.

Rey (Daisy Ridley) comes with several accessories including new Rise of Skywalker droid D-O and the lightsaber we saw her wield in the trailers. Yes, the weapon is indeed the same one that was destroyed in The Last Jedi.

“Rey carries the lightsaber once belonging to Anakin and Luke Skywalker, its shattered pieces reunited, as she continues down the Jedi path.”

Kylo Ren

Adam Driver’s character in his repaired mask and detachable hood.

Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) comes with his fiery saber and a detachable hood.

Nothing too revealing here, but the description does mebtion that the new Supreme Leader “wields more power than ever before” and that he “continues to search for secrets of the Force from the depths of the dark side.”

Jannah

A new character introduced in The Rise of Skywalker, played by Naomi Ackie.

A brand new face to the franchise, Jannah (Naomi Ackie) is still shrouded in mystery. However, we now know that the character comes from an oceanic moon (what's the odds that's one of Endor's moons?) and leads a band of warriors who are "ready to charge against the forces of the First Order."

Second Sister Inquisitor

A Jedi who fell to the dark side under Darth Vader, according to the Expanded Universe. According to the figure’s description, it’s inspired by The Mandalorian and Rise of Skywalker, so could appear in both.

This masked villain is said to be a former Jedi who fell to the dark side under Darth Vader.

She'll be one of the main antagonists of the Fallen Order video game, but there are rumors that she may also appear in live-action form in either The Mandalorian or The Rise of Skywalker.

Carbonized Sith Trooper

Purge Stormtrooper

Inspired by the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order game

This intimidating new wave of Imperial 'Trooper will appear in the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order game.

First Order Jet Trooper

The Mandalorian

Pedro Pascal’s character leading the upcoming Disney+ series.

A pretty cool first action figure for Pedro Pascal's still unnamed bounty hunter in Disney+'s live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian.

Cara Dune

Gina Carano’s mercenary appears in The Mandalorian.

He'll have some serious backup in the form of Gina Carano's former Shock Trooper turned mercenary, Cara Dune.

D-O and BB-8

D-O will appear in The Rise of Skywalker.

BB-8 comes with a new droid character we'll first meet in The Rise of Skywalker, D-O.

Offworld Jawa

The return of A New Hope’s desert scavengers, next seen in The Mandalorian.

Jawa fans rejoice! We haven't seen the diminutive hooded scavengers in quite some time, but they will appear in The Mandalorian.

Am I the only one feeling no anticipation at all? Like not negatively or positively or anything, I feel nothing when this movie is mentioned. It's weird and I don't know why. I haven't seen solo but I've enjoyed every star wars movie that came out to varying degrees, so idk why I'm not interested in this movie.

@JustAChillFan - general sentiment about the series is at an all time low. Guess the numbers will show, like they did when solo came out

@Spock0Clock - It might not have been your intention, but this image feels like it's pitting women against each other which... isn't that cool.

@tmp3 - I was originally going to use the Dark Rey pic to make it clearly about the next movie, but the image didn't have the kind of symmetry I wanted. And Rey just is the face of the new trilogy itself.

(I actually like Rey quite a lot, so it's not so much about her, just that I'm feeling the desire to start fresh.)

Leaks are fully confirmed - so nothing much to do but sit back and watch them destroy Sheev Palpatine's character and the entire Star Wars Saga as a whole in ways that should not even be possible considering he was barely developed to begin with.

Somehow I feel like all of the problems with the new trilogy (which I do generally like overall) can be traced to the decision to give Kylo Ren a three-bladed lightsaber. Like that set a tone for silly superfluous innovation over solid core storytelling.

You do look at the Mandalorian and Rebels' aesthetic of enthusiastically embracing some of the retro-props and Ralph McQuarrie-ness and it feels fresher than all the porgs and Swiss-Army-lightsabers in the galaxy.

I'm guessing they have hired a 'crack' team to build this trailer, because they have a lot on the line with this last film.

@MadKingCipher - The D23 one was great for the OT part (nostalgia factor as you mentioned), but then I lost interest unfortunately. I did like the score quite a bit though. It really pains me as a lifelong Star Wars fan that I just do not have excitement. This is the first time it has been this way. Ugh!

@Philvis -
Chances are they are keeping marketing low and will simply use Palpatine to market the finale. We will almost certainly see Palpatine in the new trailer and probably some 'twist' that they think will get people invested such as Rey kneeling before Palpatine OR something like that.

At a push they'll throw in Luke Skywalker somehow to try and entice people - but nostalgia is definitely going to be used to sell this film.

@Scarilian - I'm just not sure what they could do to really entice me. Like an idiot I watch Mike Zeroh videos of set leaks and concept art that I know will not be true, as his track record is zero...like his name. But hearing him talk about Ahsoka Tano and Ezra Bridger being in it is the one thing that gets me pumped. I know I am completely setting myself up for disappointment though. The Emperor being in it just doesn't excite me. Kind of like having a 10th Death Star or super weapon doesn't either.
