After first being teased in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Rise of Skywalker is finally going to introduce the mysterious Knights of Ren. Recently, information surfaced pointing to the Knights having served Supreme Leader Snoke before he recruited Ben Solo to his cause, and the latest intel makes it clear we may not get to see what's beneath their masks.

That means they could either be humanoid or alien in appearance, but their "secret identities" clearly aren't a priority for director J.J. Abrams in this final chapter.

It would, however, be good to learn what the deal is with them and what connections they have, if any, to the Dark Side of the Force and powerful bad guys like Snoke and The Emperor. Rian Johnson chose to completely ignore the Knights in The Last Jedi, so it's now up to this movie to deliver some satisfying answers and reveal whether all the speculation about these dark warriors was worth it.

It appears JJ is gonna rabbit foot us all over again

@MalseMarcel - isn't this a good thing? Why should we meet and get to know four new battle characters in the final movie? If it were a three hour movie maybe but even infinity war couldn't afford enough time to flesh out Thanos kids. Still felt we got a good amount of them though and what they were about

@MadKingCipher - the article stresses they will be faceless, not nameless. I don't want Boba fett levels of sitting around looking pretty cannon fodder. But I trust for Abrams to bring em back, that they pose a real threat to our heroes

I just don't see why we have to see their face and learn more about their back stories. A bit of mystery is a good thing imho

@Vigor - Agree why do we need their backstory! Darth Maul was one of the best things in episode 1 and all we knew about him was he wanted revenge against the Jedi.

Gotta save them to be cast for the Disney+ show spin off.

@Kevwebsz - The Knights of Ren, starring Andy Serkis can be a good Show for Disney +. Also, no face CGI. I want to see Serkis face. Snoke before being so ugly.

"..that their fighting skills and martial prowess are without equal"

Well I hope JJ hired a better fight co-ordinator than RJ, because that throne room battle was a [frick]ing joke.

@nikgrid - whoa. That was the only good scene of that movie though

I prefer this. I love having the air of mystery surrounding characters. I was on the side that we should never have seen Boba Fett's face. It's like Michael Myers. There is no need to see the identity of our villain.

@RancidBane - Amen!

I haven’t seen joker yet but what I LOVE about the dark knight is that the joker gives us several bullshit origin stories. It doesn’t matter in the film why he is what he is. I love how Nolan plays with that.

Meh... another great looking film with potential great stand out characters that are just gonna get wasted or neglected for the wider narrative all over again...

I don't think there will be enough time to explore their origins except in passing so this is not surprising.

The knights of Ren are going to be much less interesting than we all hoped.

They just might as well acknowledge Jar Jar being a Sith that is all.

I’m glad we’re Not exploring the past of knights because it’s not necessary to story . It’s same the thing with Snoke , his past wasn’t needed to be told for this part of the story so why include it , he’s just the guy above the guy. (Same way the emperor was in OT before having an entire second trilogy tell his rise to power)
