Writer Tony Gilroy Reportedly Made $5 Million From ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY Reshoots

According to a new report, it seems that writer Tony Gilroy's involvement with the controversial reshoots for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was pretty costly for the production of the anticipated prequel.

It looks like Jyn Erso and her band of Rebels won't be the only ones absconding with something valuable at the conclusion of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. According to The Hollywood Reporter, writer Tony Gilroy (of the Bourne film series), who was brought in to rewrite and help oversee reshoots for the Gareth Edwards-directed film, will end up with a $5 million paycheck for his services.

The publication details that Gilroy, as previously rumored, was brought in to rewrite certain scenes for Rogue One, including the film's ending, for a price tag of $200,00 per week, along with taking an "active" role in post production with Edwards.

Edwards, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, and the film's cast have all denied any sort of serious impact from the reshoots, which were rumored to consist of almost 50% of the film at one point. While Gilroy's involvement seems to have been pricey, we'll have to wait to see the overall effect when the film (which just wrapped up post-production) releases in two weeks.
