I am hoping this film does well, but don't agree with how they are highlighting the OG's (Sarah Connors and the T-800) too much. If they want an ongoing franchise they should have the new generation more front and center.

@Forthas - Totally disagree. That’s been exactly the problem with the new Star Wars movies; Betraying the characters that started the phenomenon and that everyone loves, just to use them to launch younger characters to extend the franchise for profit, at the expense of a story people actually care about. Linda Hamilton (and Connor) is an outright badarse who should be far more inspirational to young women than shoehorning in 2 younger ones for the sake of it. If they kill off Connor at the end for a cliched bullshit “pass the torch” moment, I am done with this franchise forever.

@Tasmaniac - REALLY! The Force Awakens trailers did not feature the older characters except in brief clips. It mostly focused on the adventures of the newest characters giving them the room to introduce themselves.

@Forthas - Yes, REALLY! I don’t see what the trailers have to do with anything I said. Fans were promised the return of the Original Trilogy characters only to have them ingnored/killed off so they could continue to milk the franchise with the younger characters. That’s NOT Star Wars to me. I wanted to see the originals’ growth from ROTJ, not what we got. I mean seriously, who gives a single shit about Finn’s character at all?
Both Star Wars OT and the first two Terminator films are legendary and beloved, why can’t we have genuine continuations of their characters’ stories?

I’m actually not excited about the evolution of the Terminator becoming more human. It feels like a natural progression. I dislike the Rev 9, always trying to come up with a bigger badder Terminator to fight.

I thought they said Arnold wasn’t playing a terminator in this?

This new Terminator looks awful

There hasn't been a good Terminator movie in over 28 years, and it looks like that streak will continue with this one. I know Hollowood never met a cash cow they didn't want to milk to death, but really, it's over. Let it go.

This just seems like a lame cash grab. Terminator had a great romance between Sarah and Kyle, and T2 had the friendship between John and the Terminator. Unless they can actually make us care about the characters again, I think this will be another flop. I hope I'm wrong, but after Alita Battleangel I don't have faith in James Cameron's writing skills anymore. He criticizes Marvel films for being hypergonadal, but he has completely failed to learn how they write such compelling character arcs, where you really share and connect with their emotional and psychological journey.
