At long last, our first (official) look at Doug Liman's Chaos Walking is nearly here, and ahead of this Thursday's now-confirmed trailer launch, IGN has provided us with a first look teaser and a bunch of photos from the long-awaited adaptation of Patrick Ness' The Knife of Never Letting Go.
While plot details are mostly under wraps, the film's official synopsis teases, "In the not too distant future, Todd Hewitt (Tom Holland) discovers Viola (Daisy Ridley), a mysterious girl who crash lands on his planet, where all the women have disappeared and the men are afflicted by 'the Noise' – a force that puts all their thoughts on display. In this dangerous landscape, Viola’s life is threatened – and as Todd vows to protect her, he will have to discover his own inner power and unlock the planet’s dark secrets."
Ness also co-wrote the screenplay with Christopher Ford.
In addition to the lead duo of Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley, the ensemble cast features Mads Mikkelsen (Doctor Strange; Fantastic Beasts 3), Demián Bichir (The Hateful Eight; Godzilla vs. Kong), Cynthia Erivo (Bad Times at the El Royale; Harriet), Nick Jonas (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle; Jumanji: The Next Level), Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy; The Shield), and David Oyelowo (Selma; The Midnight Sky).
Chaos Walking is currently slated to open in theaters worldwide on January 22, 2021; but that's likely subject to change due to the status of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Check out the teaser below, and be sure to drop back in on Thursday morning at 9 AM EST for the full-length trailer!
