SPOILERS: Rumoured Star Wars: Rogue One Cameo Described

Making Star Wars, who had a pretty good track record last year for breaking Force Awakens spoiler news, have given a brief description of a potential cameo that may make it into the new film.

The folks over at MakingStarWars.net got a lot of attention last year breaking a number of spoilers and plot details for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Some of you may remember they broke that story about the opening scene featuring a lightsabre falling through space. Whilst the lost light sabre part of it never made it into the film, it has been widely reported that this was originally part of the script, and a number of other plot points from the plot description they provided proved to be quite accurate, suggesting they have at least one good source close to the production of the films.

Their latest piece from the rumour mill describes a potential cameo from fan favourite Han Solo:

"We have heard of a cameo moment that pretty much has Han Solo playing a BoShek type that simply refers the rebels to people to hire. There was a rumor that Jabba the Hutt brokered information to the rebels. That might explain the rumor that they wanted the young Han Solo role cast so he could have a cameo in Rogue One even though the Solo film will take place about eight years before Rogue One."

They go on further to detail that we may get to see a few more familiar faces including the original line up of bounty hunters from Empire Strikes Back:

"There was another rumor that most of the bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back appeared in the alternate to this sequence. That means Bossk, Dengar, 4-LOM, Zuckuss, and IG-88 along with a few bounty hunters from The Clone Wars. Boba Fett is also mentioned for this stuff and one description makes us think Cad Bane is included here."

At this stage in the game all rumours should be taken with the requisite grain of salt, but we do know that Disney have been going to great lengths to cast their new, younger Han Solo. It has also been widely reported early on after the announcement of the film that bounty hunters would be involved in the grand scheme to steal the plans to the Death Star.

What are your thoughts? Are you confident that Gareth Edwards and his team will be able to slip Han or Boba Fett into the film in a way that feels organic, and not forced? Are there any OT characters you would like to see pop up in the first anthology film, or would you prefer the film to focus solely on the new characters?
