SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD Returning To Dolby Cinema This April After Delayed 10th Anniversary Re-Release

After its 10th Anniversary re-release was delayed, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World will finally return to theaters, reimagined in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Check out the exciting trailer and poster below!

Edgar Wright's beloved cult classic Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was supposed to celebrate its 10th-anniversary last year, but thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film's planned re-release was delayed.

With coronavirus case numbers trending downward and theaters starting to open back up, the super-powered romantic action-comedy is now ready for its highly anticipated theatrical re-release.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World co-writer and director Edgar Wright took to social media to announce that the film adaptation of the graphic novel series -- which has been reimagined in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos -- will return to the big screen in North America on April 30. It will play exclusively at Dolby Cinema locations. He also shared a special 10th Anniversary poster.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was designed for the big screen and for the best sound systems,” Wright said in a statement. “To be able to see it with the best specs is obviously any filmmaker’s dream. You want people to see it as good as it could possibly be. I suspect that if you’re a fan of the movie, you’re going to get such a kick out of seeing it like this.”

In a magically realistic version of Toronto, a young man must defeat his new girlfriend's seven evil exes one by one in order to win her heart.

"This new #DolbyVision & #DolbyAtmos version was supervised by the original team of sound mixer Julian Slater, colorist Stephen Nakamura, DP Bill Pope, myself and editor Paul Machliss," Wright added.

This re-imagined version of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World will play in theaters for one week only. According to Wright, a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray is also "coming soon" with a street date to be announced.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World originally released in theaters in 2010. Despite overwhelmingly positive reviews and an incredibly talented cast that included the likes of Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Chris Evans, Aubry Plaza, and Jason Schwartzman, the film was a box office bomb. It grossed just $47.7 million worldwide on a reported budget of $60 million.

In the years since, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World has garnered a cult following, so it will be interesting to see how it fares in theaters a second time around.
