SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS Promo Art Reveals First Look At Simu Liu Suited Up And New Villain

We've seen nothing from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but thanks to some toy packaging, a first look at Simu Liu suited up as the hero has been revealed...along with something even bigger!

Like the rest of Marvel Studios' Phase 4 slate, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has been hit by a series of delays. Right now, the film is scheduled to be released in July, and an unexpected first look has been revealed courtesy of a leaked LEGO set.

Yes, yes, we know that these sets often don't represent what's in the films, but that is official promo art depicting actor Simu Liu in his Shang-Chi costume. It's pretty cool, and pays homage to the comics in a great way. However, it's what else this set features which might end up grabbing your attention.

That massive water dragon may or may not be in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but it's intriguing to think the film might revolve around the hero fighting creatures like this.

The set also contains Xialing (played by Meng'er Zhang) and Wenwu (Tony Leung). The latter, remember, is actually The Mandarin, so this LEGO minifigure offers a first look at how he might appear. Death Dealer is an obscure Shang-Chi villain, but the little creature called Morris...well, you're guess is as good as ours when it comes to who or what that is!

I’m hoping we see a trailer sometime soon. Disney should attach a teaser or something to Raya and the Last Dragon, which is another Asian centric film.

I honestly know less about Shang-Chi than even the Eternals, but everything about this movie seems like it’ll be something different and special in the MCU. And I just finished Kim’s Convenience, great show and Simu Liu is great in it.

I wonder what role Shang-Chi and his pocket of the MCU will play moving forward.

I learned not to trust Lego sets, but that doesn't kill my hype whatsoever. Probably looking forward to this and Eternals the most (characters I surprisingly know the least about).

Also, I was thinking this might get delayed as a consequence of Loki's release. Juli 9th falls in the middle of Loki's weekly releases, so I'm thinking this is gonna come out three weeks later (just like Black Widow btw).

Interesting that we still haven't gotten even an official still from this movie and it comes out in 4 months. I know COVID has made Marvel cautious with putting out anything tied to a specific theatrical release date, but they are going to be in a tough spot if they suddenly have to try cramming 8 months of marketing into a 3-4 month window.
