While
Captain Marvel is currently dominating the competition at the worldwide box office, the hero who was originally known by that name arrives in theaters in a matter of weeks. We are, of course, referring to
Shazam!, and Warner Bros. has today released a gallery of hi-res images from the highly anticipated DC Comics adaptation.
Some of these have previously been seen online after being scanned from magazines, but there are plenty of awesome shots here, including Billy Batson's super-powered alter ego squaring off with the villainous Dr. Sivana and sharing some Coca-Cola with Freddy Freeman (in some admittedly blatant product placement akin to Dr. Pepper's appearance in
Thor).
Early box office projections for
Shazam! have been on the low side but that should change in the next few weeks as the studio starts pushing a movie which has so far had a relatively quiet marketing campaign. Does that mean we'll get another trailer? At this point it's hard to say, but it wouldn't hurt.
