New Line has shared another deleted scene from Shazam!, which is now available on Digital and is set to arrive on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on July 16.

This brief, but amusing sequence sees Freedy Freeman (Jack Dylan Grazer) plead with his sister Darla (Faithe Herman) to get someone to help him down after being hung from his pants on a locker door by the bullies that continually harass him throughout the movie.

We assume this scene originally took place early on, before Freddy got some super-powered backup!

What did you guys make of Shazam! Do you plan on picking up a copy on DVD/Blu-ray? Check out the deleted scene below, and drop us a comment in the usual place.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult superhero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

@RorMachine he's the best thing going in ROH now. I can't wait to see what they do with him in AEW.

‘Spot of bother’?

When did this place become Downton Abbey?

@GeneralZod - just a guess but having other students making fun of a disabled kid? at that point they are making bullies out of ALL the students and not just the bullies who put him in that situation

I'm so glad they didn't use Black Adam for the origin story. No way Billy would've been prepared for him.

That's some impressive tensile strength on those briefs.

@Reeds2Much - DOn't bring physics into this! Actually I'm kidding, they need to think more about physics in these movies. For instance, when Sahazam abruptly stopped a bus and all the weight thereof, falling toward the ground, by catching it by its windshield? Uh, no.

And before someone says "well this or that movie did the same thing" I'm just going to stop you and agree with you. Because the physics in nearly all action movies, even most of the ones I like, has big problems.

Did anybody else see this? What a great insight (for all us non-filmmaking nerds) into the mindset and decision-making processes that actual films experience.

I try to be mindful of stuff like this (and try to couch my "revelations" and theories around the possibility of happy accidents, subconscious decisions, dumb luck [good and bad], and the general chaos of filmmaking), but it's always helpful to be reminded of how much these movies aren't purely statements of creative intent, but the result of the real world craftsmanship of hundreds of people where external factors can influence that final product.
