The Hellboy reboot starring David Harbour arrives in theaters this weekend, but it won't pose any sort of problem for Shazam! as the DC Comics adaptation is expected to remain at #1 in North America...

Many fans were initially worried about Shazam!'s chances of box office success, especially with Hellboy opening so soon after it. Well, the Right Hand of Doom is clearly going to be no match for the Big Red Cheese based on the latest projections from analysts.

As you can see below, it's said that the DC Comics adaptation is currently on track to take in $25 million this weekend, and that's considerably more than what Hellboy is expected to earn. Even before the reviews hit, it was thought that the movie would make only $16 million but those negative reactions could be the kiss of death, and things really don't look good for Hellboy right now.

With a budget of only $50 million, it won't need to earn a huge amount to be considered a success, but it may not even crack $100 million worldwide by the time its run is finished.

Bad reviews won't have helped, but there may simply be a lack of interest in the character. Then again, the trailers have been pretty abysmal from the start, and pointed to the movie being a cross between Guillermo Del Toro's original and the likes of Deadpool and R.I.P.D. (but not in a good way).

Will you be checking Hellboy out in theaters this weekend?
