Only a handful of casting additions have been made to the upcoming Shazam movie but we do know that Zachary Levi will take on the titular role, while the young Asher Angel is playing Billy Batson. We've seen a fair few side by side comparisons of them both recently but the two actors showed up at the Justice League premiere last night and, as you can see, this is definitely a solid piece of casting!
The photo was originally shared on Instagram and featured a message from the Thor: Ragnarok actor about being cast as the iconic DC Comics superhero. "Hey, it’s Zachary Levi, and I just want to give a quick shout out to all of the fans of the DCEU, and say thank you so much for your love and support. I am out of my mind excited to play Shazam, and super excited to be here at the Justice League premiere. Hope y’all thoroughly enjoy the movie when it comes out, sending you all my love."
Shazam starts shooting early next year and more casting announcements should come our way very soon. Unfortunately, it will probably be a good 3 - 6 months until we get an official image of Shazam and that promises to be a very cool reveal.
