Weightlifters are all familiar with the terms of bulking and cutting and there are certainly a lot of veterans scrutinizing the weight Zachary Levi put on and then quickly lost to suit up as Shazam!

Earlier this year, Shazam star Zachary Levi became a bit miffed when leaked set photos revealed that his superhero costume had padding. Levi inexplicably tried to argue that the muscular contours of his Shazam costume were all natural but the first trailer for the film is a dead giveaway.

Still, Levi's physical transformation is still remarkable and something to applaud. Over on Twitter, the 6' 3" American actor revealed that he 'bulked' from 200 to 224 lbs to pack on size and then 'cut' down to 212 lbs to achieve definition for filming.

Levi was cast in late-October 2017 and cameras began rolling in late-January,  giving the former Chuck and Thor actor roughly 3 months to hit the gym.

Shazam! is set to hit theaters on April 4th, 2019.

He put on a good amount of muscle in a relatively short amount of time.

The suit is padded because looking like an actual superhero in real life is hard AF.

With padding and lots of CGI anybody can be transformed into a hero.

Zachary Levi is NOT Canadian. He’s from Louisiana, which is in the United States of America, fyi.
