Early reports indicate that Shazam! might just feature a cameo appearance from Superman (although it most likely won't be Henry Cavill in the cape), and The Man of Steel gets a shout-out in this latest teaser for the Big Red Cheese's first big-screen outing.

The brief clip, which was shared by the Aquaman Twitter account, contains a few snippets of new footage, and ends with Freddy Freeman (Jack Dylan Grazer) trying to encourage Shazam (Zachary Levi) to unleash his superhero abilities by telling him to "Superman it."

Will that be the only Superman reference we get in the movie? We'll find out soon, because Shazam! flies into theaters on April 5.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard (Djimon Hounsou). Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

This movie looks so corny and I'm here for it. I think the tone is going to be different from the trailers with the seven deadly sins being in it

Okay, I really liked that last joke.

This movie is actually looking worse with every bit of more footage they release.

And what’s the deal with Levi playing a completely different character to little Billy? Because they’re not acting like the same person. At all.

@PlusUltra - What have we even seen from Billy though? We see he's troubled, he wants to save the world and be self sufficient, thus he lashes out. Now he has these powers, he can help people, which is what he wants to do (shown when he thrashes the bullies outside the bus). He doesn't want to lash out, hes amazed, thus hes Shazam. It actually does make sense. Right down to his kinda humor (When he hits the kid, he says something like "ow that looks like it hurt, When with the wizard "really, thats your name",)

I think in context of the movie this will be better shown, but from a trailer they have to pack in his troubled side, smart ass side, and heart of gold, which is what makes him complex

This looks like a good time. I was never a fan of the character though so not really that hyped.

@RorMachine - I am with you! I used to watch the 1970's TV show but it got old really quickly. He should not be in THIS Dc universe but rather in one that includes the likes of Plastic Man or the Wonder Twins!

@RorMachine - Ror, This Captain Marvel was always, for the most part, a lighthearted romp in the comics, and for me, the tone that this movie is setting so far seems a REALLY perfect fit. I think it is going to be a really good time for those who can't pull the "DC is always supposed to be dark" butt plug out of their asses (Not YOU, just douchewater guzzlers like @Forthas.) I think you're actually gonna have a really good time at a DC movie, which is a pleasant change of pace.
