Andrew Garfield Thinks His Involvement Is Unimportant To SINISTER SIX Movie

Star of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Andrew Garfield, was in Toronto debuting his new movie at the Toronto International Film Festival. There he answered a few questions about Sony's Sinister Six film. Hit the jump to read his brief comments.

Andrew Garfield ("The Social Network") is a busy boy, promoting his new movie 99 Homes at the presitigious Toronto International Film Festival. While there, he chatted with the Toronto Sun about the new Sinister Six movie that is in the works. That film is being directed by Drew Goddard, who previously did the horror-comedy Cabin In The Woods.

“I know more than I’m allowed to say right now,” Garfield told us.

“I can say I’m really excited about Drew Goddard, who’s going to be writing and directing The Sinister Six movie. And whether I’m involved in that or not is kind of immaterial.”

Sinister Six won't arrive in theaters until November 11, 2016, but a the next Amazing Spider-Man film won't arrive until 2018. Geez, I don't even know if I'll be alive by then. Marc Webb didn't exactly leave the franchise in great shape. Hopefully they use the extra time wisely to get the Spidey franchise on the right track for once.

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp...

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.
