Wow, now this is going to rustle some jimbos.

Hopefully just another sign that Sony is recognizing the MCU as the gravy train it is.

Sony just wants to pass $400M doemstic. They need less than $30M to do it.

@ExSOLDIER - Any particular reason 400 is a special number?

Also, is Sony Pictures still under the gun from their parent company to deliver or else be sold off, or did that deadline (however soft or hard it was) pass when I wasn't paying attention?

@Spock0Clock - First Raimi Spider-Man did 403M dom.

@Spock0Clock - You can sell Pay TV rights for a higher price if it's $400m domestic instead of $399m domestic.
That said, this really doesn't have enough gas in the tank left for another $20m+, especially since it's only gonna be playing for under a week.

@tmp3 - Thanks. Learn something new every day. (Boy, there are so many silly thresholds and rules of thumbs in this business.)

@Spock0Clock - Did some digging and it's apparently the difference "tens of millions" of dollars for the distribution rights between a film that make $100m domestic vs. $200m domestic, even if it's between a film that made $199m vs. $200m.

@tmp3 - Jeez. In that case, it would make sense for studios to try to squeeze blood from a turnip if they're close to a milestone.

@Spock0Clock - Mmmmm... Blood turnips really brings me back to my childhood on a Transylvanian farm. Any Hoo, I believe they were given 3 years to turn it around starting about two years ago around this time if rumors are to be believed. So maybe 1 more year to get the Sony films ship to float.

Y'all will bitch and complain about remakes being "cash grabs" but will see the same movie rereleased within a few months adding 10 minutes of extra footage

As home release I would expect it, but this kinda seems like a cheap cash grab if true

If this is the start of a new trend it will backfire. People will just wait for the 'final' cut of the movie to appear.

The concept of people willfully spending their own money to see something they want to see seems to fly right over.

Let me help some of you: ALL business is a cash grab. Maybe you've heard of words like "economy" and "capitalism". Or even "competitive market". Yeah?

Personally, I saw Endgame twice in theaters then once more during its re-release. And although I REALLY enjoyed Far From
Home, I probably won't see this again in theaters unless there's some cool incentive. At any rate, it's my choice. Maybe they get my money, maybe they don't. Maybe ticket price is worth the extra goodies to some. Maybe it isn't. Point is, if something seems like a cheap cash grab it's probably just you being cheap.

While most of the posters and Blu-ray’s aren’t great the FNAC steelbook looks awesome it’s a recreation of this cover
