Why would anyone think this was the same JJJ? People looking too hard for things that don’t exist and not using common sense anymore like it’s impossible they could’ve hired an actor to play a different version of a character he already played

@ShimmyShimmyYA - I admit I didnt use common sense at first. I immediately thought of the multiverse when I first was JJJ. Then by the time I left my seat I thought they just brought him back. I didn’t think it was a “new version” of an old character. Are there any other movies where this has happened in film history? Any other examples like this?

@Frshcoupe - Judi Dench played M in the 90s James Bond movies which has the same running continuity since the 60s. The Daniel Craig Bond films was the first time the series has been rebooted and they kept Dench as M.

@rexlincoln - ah I see..good point.

@Frshcoupe -
That's the thing. Once you have a multiverse and alternate timelines things get complicated. Throw some shape shifters in there and it's all kinds of complicated.

@rexlincoln - yeah but that got people thinking it was somehow a sequel to the other james bond movies. To the point the bond as a codename theory became really popular to explain it.

Making him Infowars-lit is a step or two too far, but I still appreciate we're on the path of getting Jonah as a villain.

@Reeds2Much - I feel like in a modern setting thats exactly who J Jonah would be, maybe not an actual criminal or anything but a provocateur of sorts wwho ues the internet as his platform

@Reeds2Much - Did you say the same after Spidey PS4? Because that was the first to show the Bugle in this light. And people didn't seem to mind.

@Nightwing1015 - I wasn't impressed with JJJ on PS4 in the least. He was just a random podcaster. In fact, instead of just the occasional blip of audio that the game should have treated it more like the Grand Theft Auto games and let you tune into different radio stations, including one that was like a JJJ themed Chatterbox or Integrity 2.0.

The only real modern comparison I can come up with is something closer to Hank Scorpio from the Simpsons, minus how much of a caricature is. Someone that might seem like a nice guy to those close to him, but someone who is actually actively trying to kill someone(s) else by hiring hitmen and having killbots and mutates created.

@Reeds2Much - It was LITERALLY, a perfect modernization of JJJ. How else would you expect him to be in a world set in today's time?
Reeds2Much
Reeds2Much - 7/8/2019, 2:41 PM
@LongMayHeReign - Once he buys Spider-Slayers or pays to create a Scorpion or Fly then we'll have a perfect modernization of JJJ. Until then he's literally just half a character, and not even the particularly interesting half.

After all, blowhards with internet access are dime a dozen.

@Reeds2Much - True but that is what JJJ is/was in the Raimi films. A conspirialist blowhard. Obviously, we've only seen like 15 seconds of this new JJJ, but for a starting point it's a natural modernization.

@Toonstrack - @Reeds2Much - I'm SUPER-picky (not about matching the comics or anything, just in terms of creating a believable story in the movies I watch w/characters that have real motivations), and I thought this was a great choice for ol' JJJ. Reeds, what would YOU have liked to see?
