CONFIRMED: SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING's Peter Parker Made His First MCU Appearance In IRON MAN 2

We all thought that Peter Parker made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War, but it turns out that the youngster showed up in this world much sooner than that...in Phase 1!

There's been a fan theory for a while now that Peter Parker may have shown up before we met him as a teenager in Spider-Man: Homecoming and that's now been confirmed by the wall-crawler himself, Tom Holland. For those of you unfamiliar with it, many believe that the youngster wearing an Iron Man mask who stands up to one of Justin Hammer's drones in Iron Man 2 is, in fact, the future Spider-Man.

You can watch that scene for yourselves below, but in a recent interview, the actor revealed that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has told him that the kid saved by Tony Stark is indeed Peter.

"I can confirm that is Peter Parker. I can confirm that as of today. I literally had a conversation with Kevin Feige only 20 minutes ago. Maybe I’ve just done a big, old spoiler, but it’s out there now. It’s cool," he added. "I like the idea that Peter Parker has been in the universe since the beginning."

Whether or not that was meant to be Peter at the time is hard to say and it's something that only Feige and Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau probably know for sure. Either way, this is an incredible Easter Egg and one hell of a retcon which gives Spidey a very special place in the MCU. We'll have to wait until next week to find out whether or not this moment is actually referenced in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
