Hours after winning a Golden Globe for The Disaster Artist, Spider-Man star James Franco was met with a wave of sexual assault allegations and now Stan "The Man" Lee is the latest high profile celebrity to come under fire.
He's been accused of various levels of misconduct by nurses who were once employed by the Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and X-Men creator in his home in Los Angeles.
Apparently, the nursing company stopped working for Lee after a string of complaints which included him walking around naked, demanding oral sex from them, and groping "a string of young female nurses." No lawsuit has been filed and no criminal complaints have been made but this is still serious.
An attorney representing Lee denied the "false and despicable allegations" in a statement and suggests that the comic book creator is the target of extortion. "Mr. Lee will not be extorted or blackmailed, and will pay no money to anyone because he has done absolutely nothing wrong."
This nursing company stopped working for Lee in late 2016 and his current caretakers - Vitale Nursing Inc. - says that Lee is "polite, kind and respectful."
It's important to note that nothing has been confirmed in regards to any of this and it's very much a case of word against word. Given the current political climate, though, it will be very interesting to see how Marvel chooses to respond to this story.
