MORBIUS Director Daniel Espinosa Seemingly Confirms Plans For A Venom Cameo In The Movie

It's looking like Sony Pictures has something planned for the "SPUMC," but has Morbius director Daniel Espinosa just confirmed that Tom Hardy's Venom will make an appearance? Read on for further details...

Sony Pictures has hit the "Pause" button on Morbius' marketing campaign, which is no great surprise when the movie has been pushed into 2022. That first trailer is still playing in the minds of many fans, though, especially as it featured a cameo from Spider-Man: Homecoming villain Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton).

That either means the movie is supposed to be set in the MCU or a world very much like it, though Tobey Maguire's wall-crawler being depicted in graffiti has only served to further confuse matters.

One thing we can be sure of, though, is that Morbius more than likely takes place in the same world as Venom. Now, during a translated interview with MovieZine, director Daniel Espinosa talked about what it was like to step on to the set of his first Marvel movie, and it was then he appeared to drop a bombshell.

"It usually feels strange before the day begins, when you look at the schedule and stand on the set yourself," the filmmaker said. "When you walk around there, the recording looks just like a Swedish production, but then when you look at the schedule and read names like Michael Keaton, Jared Leto, Tom Hardy, then it feels cool and very exciting."

It's worth noting that Espinosa worked with Hardy on Child 44, but it's strange that he'd name two actors from Morbius and then randomly pick the guy who just so happens to play Venom!

Comments like these can be read out of context, though, so we're definitely not getting ahead of ourselves yet. It would certainly make sense for Eddie Brock and/or Venom or appear in some form, but it's hard to say what that would be setting up (unless Sony has some sort of Sinister Six team-up planned).
