Except Avi Arad is the creepy grandpa we're all embarassed of.

@crawley - He gave us Spiderman & Xmen the animated series in the 90s. He [frick]ed up now, but like what Kevin Feige said without Avi Arad Marvel will not be a household name. Marvel comics went bankrupt like 5 times before any movie or tv show were made and it was not until he commoditize it that it really picked up.

@mastakilla39 -
The first two Spiderman films were gold as well. He messed up along the way but he did do some good stuff.

@mastakilla39 - as a person who spent 10 years working for a former Marvel exec in private ventures that has heard every story under the sun, that is actual and real bs. It is true that Avi Arad did a lot of work bringing Marvel to television and film, but for money and never with the intention of telling good stories. Anything good that ever happened under his tenure was in spite of him and not because of him.

@crawley - This is america, everything is about money. But you have to praise that commoditization of Marvel. He showed that you can make profit off of things based on these Marvel characters. Without showing some type of profit margin, there will be no adaptation. Avi Arad's goal was just to make as much money off of licensing for toys, cartoons, movies, etc. but that lead to people actually adapting the source material seriously.

Feige noted how Avi Arad was the only reason why Blade or Xmen got made. Avi Arad knew and connected all the people that were necessary to get these films made. Feige was only getting coffee for them at that time as Amy Pascal stated in the past.

Really annoying that Matt Smith's "Hunger" villain is another vampire, aka a character that has the same powers. Aren't we a little past villains with the same powers as the hero? I get that it puts them on equal footing but we need some sort of diversity if the genre is going to evolve.

@CaptainDC - Every superhero movie is still doing this. Black widow, Eternals, and prob every comic book movie coming out this year is doing that. Black widow vs task master, Harley vs Black Mask, WW vs Cheetah/ Maxwell lord, etc. are all opposites of the hero with a similar power or skill set.

@EmpressCipher - In hindsight Black Mask & Task Master are just the male version of BW and HQ. I highly doubt any of those characters are getting their comic origin or even a good origin. Task Master is probably just going to be a secret agent or mercenary similar to BW's past. BM is just an underground gangster similar to how HQ was introduced in SS as Joker's gangster girlfriend.

Nothing drastic or unique.

@mastakilla39 - Agreed. It's getting ridiculous and we need some originality. These exact points help show what makes Batman and Spider-Man so special... their diverse rogue gallery

"leading the charge for the 2021 Oscars, Morbius with 15 nominations".
I will seriously eat my entire Gunpla collection if something remotely like that happens ever.

As long as they portray well his struggle to not give into vampirism (but also at times succumbing to it) then that will suffice for the movie.
