After multiple delays caused by the pandemic, we're now just over seven weeks away from Morbius arriving in theaters. The latest sneak peeks for the Sony movie helped increase excitement among fans, and we have a new batch of stills from the Living Vampire's big screen debut.

These images seemingly show Morbius making his escape in a prison jumpsuit; presumably, the time he spends behind bars will be what leads to the doctor crossing paths with the MCU's Adrian Toomes.

There's also a behind-the-scenes shot from the movie, Michael seemingly experimenting with his blood, and a recently released image of the title character meeting with Martine Bancroft. These don't reveal much about what we can expect from Morbius, though it is beginning to feel like the blockbuster could exceed expectations the same way Venom: Let There Be Carnage did earlier this year.

"One of Marvel's most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius," reads the synopsis. "Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil - or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?"

The cast of Morbius includes Jared Leto, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson, while the movie will arrive exclusively in theaters on January 28, 2022.

The purple jacket guy in the skateboard is the only character I'm excited to see in this movie!

This character may just shape the entirety of the Sony Universe. Fingers crossed he's being set up as the next big bad!

:P

One of my most vivid memories from the animated series is the whole Morbius/Blade/Man-Spider stroy. It would be crazy to see it in live action one day.

@GeneralZod - I hope that if that universe makes a reappearance in across the Spiderverse, that they frame it just as fast paced as the show was lol. Shit was happening at 300 frames per second

My kids were watching Suicide squad for the first time and literally cut it off when Joker became too prominent. They just couldn’t do it. They got past the cringy club scene somehow but I guess that’s all they had in them to do.
