There's still a lot of speculation about Charlie Cox's possible MCU future, and the internet is all abuzz after the actor cancelled a convention appearance due to shooting commitments. Read on for details!

Social media's so-called "scoopers" remain convinced that Charlie Cox will reprise the role of Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, while it was recently reported that the Daredevil star could even suit up again in She-Hulk. We're not getting too excited just yet - especially with no word from the trades - but there's even more speculation about his MCU future today.

Cox was supposed to appear at the San Antonio-based Celebrity Fan Fest next month, but has been forced to cancel due to what's been described as a "last-minute filming schedule" change.

Fans have already dug up what they believe is evidence that Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently undergoing standard additional photography, while it's worth noting that cameras are already rolling on She-Hulk before it arrives on Disney+ sometime next year.

As far as we're aware, Cox isn't attached to any projects that should be in the midst of shooting right now, so it's hard not to wonder whether this is all tied to his long-rumoured Daredevil return.

Daredevil ran on Netflix for three seasons, and while key creative decisions often came under fire from fans (Elektra's death and the way The Hand was used, for example), Cox's interpretation of the Man Without Fear was loved by all. With that in mind, it would make perfect sense for Marvel Studios to enlist the actor to play Matt Murdock again.

We'll just have to wait and see whether that happens.

@L0RDbuckethead - Isn't it due to the "rise" in covid cases lately? A lot of actors and singers have been cancelling upcoming appearance this week.

They better not f*cking even SOFT-reboot what happened in the Netflix series.

If they want to give him a cooler costume that's fine by me (although i'm guessing we won't actually see the Devil, just the man) but the story stays.

GOT IT!?!? >:(

@Doomsday8888 - D’onofrio’s Kingpin should come as a package deal

@Doomsday8888 - As much as I love the show, wouldn’t it have felt like a soft-reboot either way? I don’t think they would’ve referenced any of the plot elements anyways.

That being said, if the rumours of Daredevil & Fisk returning for the Echo show are true, then they better continue from where we left off (just, ya know, after like 6 years in-universe

@SpideyPuffsMJ
Absolutely!

@DaHyro
Hinting at that stuff is more than enough.

No need to show, for example, Matt meeting with Fisk for the first time etc...

@SpideyPuffsMJ - everyone from the cast should come as a package deal. They were all pretty [frick]in great.

@Doomsday8888 - That would mean that Iron Fist and Jessica Jones season 2 are also canon, I can live without those.

To see him on screen again as Matt would make enduring this multiverse Spiderman mess worth it

@BlackBeltJones - I hated the idea of bringing over all these other multiverse versions of characters in Spider-Man. But now, after seeing what's happening in Loki, and the implications that has on the entire MCU, Spider-Man seems like the best place to show the impacts of the new timelines.

When you think about it, no other character in the MCU has previous film series to pull from. So showing these other versions of characters from other film series, even though they haven't been introduced with MCU versions yet, kind of makes sense because they are recognizable.

It makes an impact. More of an impact than introducing some character in another franchise, like Dr Strange, and saying they are from another reality, when we've never seen them in the MCU anyway.

@CorndogBurglar - I didn't even realize until the Journey Into Mystery episode with Richard E Grant, that Loki was basically laying the ground work for how a Tobey, Andrew and Tom Spider-man can all exist in the same film. It's [frick]ing beyond genius.

@BlackBeltJones - say what you want but I havent been this excited for a movie since Endgame. Maybe more.

@BlackBeltJones - I didn't like the idea of bringing in characters from movies I didn't like, either, but then the guy in WandaVision turned out to be fantastic. They're not bad actors, they're just bad films.

I'm really against making the Netflix shows an alternate universe, though. To me, that is definitively Matt's story and a new Matt would be an imposter, like that Loki that got bitten by the crocodile. Clearly, the Loki we love is the one who's story we've followed for years, just like Matt. The whole time I watched Daredevil (as it came out), I thought about how it fit with the MCU. It's too hard to divorce it. Plus, the timelines fit completely.

A+ gif.

After Loki, I'm starting to believe the leak I read (the one where the Statue of Liberty has a Shield that's used as a conductor by Dafoe's Osborn) might actually hold some truth and wouldn't be surprised by now if Matt's gonna be in it.

However, this could also just be a major coincidence. Could very well just be a case of believing something is gonna happen, and then something happens that fits that believe and we take it as evidence.

I will [frick]in cry my eyes out if Cox reprises his Daredevil role. Better retain rest of the cast as well.

But then I shudder at the thought of Watts making this Matt a comedic character in NWH.

Would love to have Cox back as DD. My biggest concern about it would be if it means to "erase" its show and just having a new Matt Murdock in the MCU. I think they could respect what happened on Netflix and just keep moving on with the same version. But I don't think Feige is on board with that idea...

BTW first comment on CBM after years of visiting and reading your comments, guys. I'm from Spain and english is not my first language, so be nice with my writing, please :D
