Not bad at all, but the black and red look is still my favorite by far.

@ModHaterSLADE - I didn’t like black and red it look like dark blue

Looks good, I think he needs this suit to fight "Dr. Strange"

Yep. I don’t think that’s strange

@HulkisHorny - question is who is it?? Cause I’m guessing whoever it is swapped out with strange in that scene where he’s floating meditating

@ShimmyShimmyYA -

Agreed. Could be mephisto, could be nightmare, etc. either one would lead perfectly into Dr Strange 2 which is clearly connected to this film. In fact, I wonder if this film will end with Peter still not knowing where the real Dr is and perhaps gets Wanda to help find him...setting up the next film.

@Frshcoupe - from what if ? Or another evil version
RegularPoochie
RegularPoochie - 8/26/2021, 7:17 PM
@HulkisHorny - could be Mephisto, because the one more day thing, but I doubt it. It could be evil Dr. Strange from different universe. Didn't they say those what if's are connected to the MCU.

@ShimmyShimmyYA - I think also it starts other Dr. Strange locking the real on somewhere or sending him to another universe and switching places.

Not a bad theory

It's not bad but it's only in the movie to sell action figures.

Not really diggin' it. It reminds me of the 90's and early '00's when every sports team, a lot of characters had to have their their alt black unis. because it was the cool thing to do. Spidey should be relatively simple yet they treat him like the Oregan Ducks of the MCU.

“the prevailing theory is that the hero dons this suit in order to counter Electro's powers”

There is also a prevailing theory that it’s main purpose is to sell more toys.

@LilJimmy - I remember owning a Superman TAS - Superman in space costume toy. I guess kids really do like dumb stuff. xD

thelastson18 - 8/26/2021, 4:50 PM
@nmasterofnaught - probably the best iteration of the character IMO, the first 3 episodes showing his origin are fantastic. Should’ve been the template for a certain cinematic universe…but I don’t wanna get hate bringing that into this thread lol

@thelastson18 - I agree on the presentation, but unfortunately for me its:
https://atomic-chronoscaph.tumblr.com/post/183641552118/christopher-reeve-superman-the-movie-1978

The Big Blue Boy Scout got to have an actual sense of fun & charisma. Which sadly Henry has in bucket loads, but wasn't really allowed to showcase.

@nmasterofnaught - oh dude Christopher Reeve is my favorite live action version! I remember watching it over and over as a kid. Last year they played it at the drive-in, just a wonderful experience overall
nmasterofnaught
nmasterofnaught - 8/27/2021, 5:48 AM
@thelastson18 - DAMN that must of been amazing!

I still feel the first half of the film is nothing short of the best superhero film of all-time. Set to John Williams's score. Who could argue. Apparently Kevin Feige agrees - showed it all the time to directors in early MCU productions.

I get the dated graphics & silly luthor plot (a real missed opportunity there with hackman in the role) kind of bring it down for most these days.
thelastson18
thelastson18 - 8/27/2021, 6:18 AM
@nmasterofnaught - honestly, I love Hackman in the role. He worked for the film and at the time the graphics were groundbreaking. You are correct, the first half of the movie is perfection. I always get the feels when he leaves Smallville for Metropolis!
nmasterofnaught
nmasterofnaught - 8/27/2021, 6:38 AM
@thelastson18 - Oh yeah he's a great. Good comic foil & tbh probably what the film needed, but having read John Bryne's Man of Steel comic run recently, just can't help think of what an incredible actor like Gene could have done with pure disguised menace/malevolence.

He never comes up in a top lex luthor argument?
thelastson18
thelastson18 - 8/27/2021, 6:51 AM
@nmasterofnaught - that’s true. Otis could’ve handled the comedic relief while Hackman could hide a real hatred for Superman/evil way deep inside. I think if they use that first movie as a template for a new updated modern version, mixed with birthright and all star, that would be the quintessential Superman. And Henry could totally pull it off.

Funny enough I’ve been reading the Byrne man of steel run recently, I’m surprised how many elements were used in MoS, besides Superman’s attitude lol
nmasterofnaught
nmasterofnaught - 8/27/2021, 8:24 AM
@thelastson18 - Oh man RIP Ned Beatty. Apparently he would of made a fantastic Lex Luthor if his speech in a film called 'Network,' is as amazing as described. I've gotta check it out. Also vaguely remember being very scared of deliverance as a child.

Tbh I think the way John Bryne ended his MoS run may have been a big-f-u to DC (whilst also giving other writers a lot to work out from) - Which the film kind of missed the point of. As well as Clark is the real person, superman is what he can do.

I like your mix of superman inspirations & I'd def watch & probably enjoy it, but at this point it might be a good idea to move away from origin stories we've heard a fair few times, lol, at least at this point.

I'm starting to like it more and more. Aside from selling toys, I think its purpose is gonna be similar to Black Pamther's suit. Instead of absorbing kinetic energy though, it's gonna be magic
