Pondering his Marvel future beyond Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland has admitted that he'd be open to taking on a mentor role to characters like Miles Morales or Spider-Woman. Read on for details...

It's clear the role of Peter Parker means a lot to Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland, but he's talked a lot recently about potentially wrapping up his time as the iconic wall-crawler. The actor is interested in seeing a live-action Miles Morales on the big screen, but it appears Holland has an idea for how he could transition into a new role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

That would involve his Spider-Man serving as a mentor to a new web-slinger, and it sounds like Holland is keen on taking on an Iron Man-like mentor role for characters like Miles Morales or Spider-Woman.

"I love this character more than anything. It's changed my life. I have a relationship with my fans that's so wonderful, I couldn't ask for it to be any better. But I wanna do what's best for the character. If it's time for me to step down and the next person to step up, I'll do so proudly."

"I'd love to see a more diverse Spider-Man universe which would be really exciting. If I could be a part of that, I could be the Iron Man to the next young Spider-Man or Spider-Woman, that would be great. But at the moment, all I have to think about is the character and what's best for Peter Parker."

Olivia Wilde is working on a Spider-Woman movie for Sony Pictures, so it might make the most sense for Peter to serve as a mentor to Miles Morales. While the comic books (and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) saw the teenager suit up as Spidey following Peter's death, Insomniac's video game franchise has made them partners, and that's something fans have really embraced.

Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.

Makes sense for them to introduce Miles alongside Holland's Spidey after teasing the characters existence in Homecoming.

@DetectiveCinema - Yeah, but I'm also wondering if we get a ghost spider down the line, or even next after Holland is done.

Maybe by the end of the next trilogy? I can see that happening.

Kinda sorta doesn't make sense when this Spider-Man is only ~17 and hasn't himself fully grown into a hero. How much younger do you want the next Spider-Man to be?

They need to fully realise this character before shoving him into a mentorship arc.

@RageDriver2401 - Just introduce Miles in the next movie and make him 5 years old lol

So does he want to play Spider-Man until 30 or not?

Whats best for Peter Parker is having him grow up to be the Spider-Man we love, be that Spider-man for some time and then mentor Miles, with eventually dying as the most respected hero in the marvel universe.

Like Cable said, Spidey was the best of them all

Now that mention, Spider-Woman would have been a great adition to this Thunderbolts thing, giving that it seems they lack a Spiderman counterpart. 🤔

Way too soon to become a mentor, wait till Holland is at least 30 to turn him into the mentor figure.
Peter Parker needs to go through a massive change to actually become the mentor, this version hasn't even finished high-school for gods sake.

I'd love to see Tom's Spidey come full circle and mentor Miles, but the character is nowhere near ready for that yet. Even from what we know about NWH he's still a very young, pretty immature Peter, and even if NWH is about him finally "growing up" I think we need to spend some time with his more grown up Spidey across a few more movies before Miles comes along and Peter takes him under his web-wing.

Ideally I want to see this version of Peter go to a point that we haven't seen other cinematic Spider-Men go to before. Tobey was firmly in college by Spider-Man 3, but we've never seen Peter graduate and struggle with being an adult in the real world, and I'd love to see Tom's version do just that. Peter's most special character trait in the comics was how half of his problems weren't superhero-related - they were everyday problems the reader could relate to. Let's see more of that in the movies with Tom's Spidey, and then have him learn from that and pass those lessons on to Miles and anyone else he mentors.

Or rather the uncle ben to the next Spidey would be better.

If he wants to take on a mentor role in the MCU, they gotta beef up his maturity in these films at a faster clip than what they've been doing. Otherwise this is going to start feeling like a Peter Pan type of situation.

Yeah he's been dropping hints, that he doesn't wanna play a kid Peter Parker anymore. He's already a short actor. So the last thing he wants, is to get type cast for roles.

Yes be a mentor to a Spider-Man or Spider-woman but like Iron Man was with you,I didn't like the whole Spidey/Iron Man thing.

There is a Spider-Man he can mentor and his name is Miles Morales. But the MCU Peter is still too young to be put in a mentor role. I would say after the next trilogy. Introduce Miles as a kid and have him grow with each movie. Then Spider-Man 5 could he the Miles movie with Peter being the mentor.

Just do what Spiderman PS4 did. The blueprint is right there.

It seems they're already setting him up for that role in the MCU anyway, so it makes sense he said that.

Eh, Idk yet. This Peter sure does makes a lot of mistakes. Most likely at the end of the next trilogy.

F*** Miles Morales. The only next live-action spider-person should be Peter's daughter, Mayday.
