Damn… I was typing this out just last night. I had no idea how to add a video link and just gave up 😭

Otherwise, this lines up with the rumours that Raimi wanted to take things back to basics for 4. This fight is VERY reminiscent of the final fight with Norman… I wish the MCU Vulture could’ve had some fight scenes with some weight like this

Also… since this is a Raimi article…

Damn Vulture was beating Peter's ass lmao!

Also, is it just me or do they not make Superhero fights like that anymore? Like I was really fearing for Peter's saftey just now lol.

@Superspecialawesomeguy - i loved Rami’s love for Spidermans original rogues gallery, u can see he wanted to make the lesser known goofier villains just as dangerous as green goblin and venom

@Superspecialawesomeguy - I totally agree. The closest IMO was Black Panther’s second waterfall fight with Killmonger, but even that wasn’t as impactful because we already saw T’Challa in the Infinity War trailer

@Matchesz - Oh most definitely, I didn't think Doc Ock was that threatening at all until I saw the surgery scene in Spider-Man 2.

@DaHyro - Yeah I feel like in the age of the Cinematic Universe, It's harder to care about a characters saftey when you know that they're going to appear in another movie in a year or two lol.

After Doctor Strange 2 they should just give Raimi another shot at SM 4, lol. Make Spider-Man great again

Such a shame this never happened. Most of the content of Raimi’s Spider-Man movies was amazing. This just shows what we could have had instead if the ridiculous fan assisted huge wings that the MCU Vulture was given.

Did anyone else accurately hear Tobey Maguire's grunts and screams throughout that fight? After 3 movies, I know what his Spidey sounds like in battle.

After DS 2, give Raimi another shot for Spider-Man 4,5, and 6 for Tom Holland.

@NoobNoob - it did not happen in Spider-Man 2 although his costume got ripped at the finale

Damnn, that was beautiful.

I don't remember there having been any bad reaction to Malkovich being cast as the Vulture though. I do recall there being backlash to the whole Vulturess thing, thogh, which was indeed stupid.

Stop pushing that fake about Vulturess. Raimi himself denied that back then and said that Felicia Hardy would've been Black Cat.

It truly is one of the all-time saddest, missed opportunities that Sam Raimi never got another Spider-Man movie and finish the series on a more satisfying note. Spider-Man 3 may not have been great but it certainly wasn't "franchise killer" bad.

Also Anne Hathaway as Felicia Hardy? That's some terrific casting right there. I guess visionary directors (Raimi, Nolan) tend to think a like.

@Awest66 - its sony's fault to push venom, Raimi didnt want him in the movie
