Six months later, Disney makes a billion dollars with Far From Home and raised it to 50%

THIS is the most intersting detail to me. I know that most people shits on Sony because of some of the bad choices they made... BUT when they swing for the fences and nail it, they create icnredible stuff that just couldn't happen anywhere else.

Spiderman, Spider-Man 2, Spider-verse.. a film everyone thought would fail... those movies are classics.

They are developing a Madame Web movie a bizarre and interesting character, looks like they are finally actually looking at those that are potentially interesting in the Spider-Man pantheon.

I for one see this as the best of both worlds.

Just keep Lord and Miller around. Please. lol.

My guess is they are going to pull a Supergirl. With the Multiverse being introduced in the MCU, it's an excuse to occasionally have Sony pull Holland's Spidey out of that world and into Venom's from time to time similar to Supergirl in the Arrowverse.

@MyBeard - That's probably it. It's a solid compromise that allows MCU Spidey to remain in that universe while also allowing Sony to utilize him in their films. Both get the character without too much cross contamination.

@MrDandy - @JDL - Supergirl's comings and goings in the Arrowverse birth a ridiculous number of "why didn't they just page Kara?" questions whenever the bad guy presents a challenge, and vice versa with the Flash.

1 time random team up with Venom? Sure, why not? Permanently stuck in the Venom-verse...not what I want, but fine. Back and forth just because the sandwiches are better in the other Queens and while I'm here I might as well fight some crime...that's just lame.

Skipping back and forth doesn't solve problems it just encourages lazy writing, like portals popping up whenever, or needlessly contrived explanations for why Peter would spend so much time out of his "home" universe.

My point is that the way they do Supergirl in the Arrow multiverse is ham fisted, and I hope they don't do it anything like that. Honestly, I don't think there is a way to have multiple trips back and forth that can avoid ham fistery.

@MyBeard - Really good actually. Hits its stride in season two when much of the show deals with parallel universes and how they interact together. Definitely worth a watch.

The only weird part is the sinister six thing. It seemed that marvel was subtly building towards a sinister six movie but can both studios do one? Will it be redundant for Holland to fight them in two different universes? And can Holland reference his fights between the two universes?

If he's going back and forth and fighting these big battles he'll be prime spider-man in no time, which I think we got a glimpse of him becoming that in the final battle of Far from home anyway

One good reason to keep things moving is Vulture and Scorpion. Sinister Six is already started in the MCU and they would really need to keep it that way to pull it off.

Well, one way would be to have vulture and scorpion fighting Spidey and have them get sucked into the alternate reality where doc oc, venom, morbius etc are.

Maybe it’s also in marvel’s best interest not to have crap movies made with their property and Sony realized there is an extra $200 million in it for them to make a GOOD Spidey movie. Either way it’s a good thing
