Their track record for Spider-trilogies is pretty solid.

Poor Tom..Poor Sweet Sweet Tom. I hope to god you get to go back to the MCU. IF not I do wish you the best in this next Spider-Man movie. Hopefully Sony can at least finish the trilogy and make it good without [frick]ing it up. But I wouldn't hold your breath for too long. Sony will [frick] it up soon enough. Especially if Arad is involved again.

I've never seen Amazing Spider-Man 2 and I haven't seen Far Far Home yet, but Spider-Man 2 is still the best Spider-Man movie IMO. He'll be fine if Sony can find that magic again.

The only reason Far From Home did so good is because of Infinty War and Endgame.

@mrcool210- honestly they have a decent shot at finishing strong , tho i haven't been the hugest fan of the spider-man films you can definitely tell Marvel had direction... Sony needs to keep to that formula or at least use a outline of it and end strong with the six . hopefully ego's aren't too outlandish where Sony just says screw it and go back to the amazing spider-man era ...

Humble, but we know you'd rather be at Marvel Studios.

It truly sucks about Spiderman not being part of the MCU anymore

I guess I'm just going to have to cope with Moon Knight and Blade very possibly being in the same
MCU movie in the next couple of Years

Word, I figured he’d say that Sony doesn’t have any idea what they’re doing, the film is gonna be trash, and no one should go see it lol

Tom cut the PR. We all saw the EW interview in D23. You were looking right nexto tot he camera like you were in a hostage video.

Sony know no matter the outcome they will be labeled as the guys "who took spider-man out of the MCU" and every statement Tom makes screams of PR.

Sony made 3 hit Spider-Man movies last year, one of which is considered the best Spidey movie ever and possibly best superhero movie of the year, so I don't get why people are so nervous.

Why do you guys keep having this nonsensical take? Ya'll (and by ya'll I mean people with a similar take not you in particular) said the same thing about Captain Marvel and Black Panther, but there is one big hole your theory. If these films only did well because of their proximity to Infinity War and Endgame and not because of their quality and fan interest in the characters then why did Ant-man and the Wasp only make $600M?

People don't continually go back for repeat viewings just to see how these films would connect to the mega team-up films. If that was the only reason they were interested and the films themselves weren't good then we would have seen huge drop offs akin to BvS.

My number 1 movie this year is from Sony. Saw it twice in theaters. Glad they threw all that money at Tarantino to make it.

Chewtoy
Chewtoy - 9/5/2019, 9:49 AM
@regularmovieguy - Taratino made plenty of demands before he would accept Sony's bid to produce and release the film, including that they had no say in the final cut.

So yeah, Sony is great at bankrolling films and staying out of the production... It's why the last 2 Spider-man films made by Marvel and paid for by Sony worked out so well.
Chewtoy
Chewtoy - 9/5/2019, 9:40 AM
Sony is very much hit and miss... Sure, it could work out great, if they get the right people and let them do their thing. Or it could be a weak disappointment with too much input from the wrong people.

That's the real issue here... had it stayed at Marvel, it would have been shocking had the next one been a misfire. Now, at Sony? It seems a crap shoot.

Sony made the 3 best SpiderMan movies without Marvel. They're fine.
