Kevin Smith Clarifies Recent "Rumor" He Shared About Daredevil Being In SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Sequel

There's a good reason we don't cover stories from We Got This Covered here on CBM; they share what can only be described as "FAKE NEWS!" on a daily basis. That's made the site the butt of many a joke online, but one person who didn't get the memo is Indie filmmaker Kevin Smith.

A few days ago, Smith shared a rumor about Charlie Cox returning as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Man Without Fear in the next Spider-Man movie, and the internet was loving it!

Understandably, the excitement to see Matt Murdock represeting wanted murderer Peter Parker in court was a simply spectacular thought for many, while watching the wall-crawling wonder fighting side-by-side with Daredevil was a thoroughly thrilling prospect.

We didn't cover this bogus story, but most sites did, and Smith himself has now been forced to clarify his remarks. The popular writer and director wants you to know he was only sharing a rumor he too had read online, so he will surely be a tad more careful in future, no matter how cool it might be.

Cox is unlikely to return to the Daredevil role now that Marvel Studios mastermind Kevin Feige seems to be rebooting the Marvel TV shows, but Spidey could get a helping hand from She-Hulk.
