I wouldn't be surprised if they start shooting Spider-Man first, because I think there is far more enthusiasm for that than for for Uncharted. And I'm hoping Sony sees that too

Why do I read this as 'Mark Wahlberg is also in Spider-Man 3'? XD

Interesting that the film rights issue is not being highlighted in none of the Spider-Man 3 reporting. From the last that I read, Sony has 3 years between films in order to retain the film rights. The Spider-Man film deal is the most restrictive than any past deal with FOX & other studios. That means Sony has to have a film in theaters by July 2, 2022. Now that most likely will still happen but I think a lot of folks just forget because Marvel Studios is working with Sony that the movie rights issues is a non-issue. But it's still an issue.

While Marvel Studios can wait patiently for Sony to decide what to do. Sony CAN'T kick this can too far down the road before they get boxed in. Disney has already taken May & July 2022. Sony needs a summer date to maximize profits from a Spider-Man film. My guess is if Sony sees July 2021 as a no-go for release they will push the film into 2022 with filming taking place late spring/early summer 2021. Uncharted (which can release pretty much in any financial quarter) will probably shoot first & meet its projected release date in October 2021. (unless it moves due to the new release date of 'The Batman' happening a week before it)

Start looking at June 2022 dates because that's the latest month Sony can release Spider-Man 3 to avoid Marvel Studios films, maintain a summer release & hold on to the film rights But Sony needs to decide quickly because other studios are pushing & placing flags on future dates.
